Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the BJP ruled state Chief Ministers to make their states a model for execution of the Central schemes and work in a mission mode in this direction.
Addressing the Chief Ministers of the BJP ruled states in New Delhi last evening, Mr Modi asked them to leave no stone unturned for governance work. He also emphasized the need of 100 per cent Aadhar Enrollment in the party ruled states saying that it brings transparency.
Talking to news persons after the meeting, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, Mr Modi asked them to take innovative steps in skill development work as well as proper implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Mr Chouhan said, during the day-long meeting it was decided that the BJP will adopt an agenda for the welfare of poor and a committee has been set up to prepare it. He said, discussions were held over the issues of farmer welfare, women empowerment, youth and employment as well as good governance.
Earlier, inaugurating the meeting, BJP President Amit Shah asked the Chief Ministers to make their states an effective instrument for execution of the Centre’s pro-poor and good governance agenda. He noted that the BJP rules over 51 per cent of the country’s landmass and 37 per cent population. Mr Shah also said, his party has started an era of politics of performance in the country.
Along with the Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, BJP state Presidents and others also attended the meeting.
Our correspondent reports that this was the first such meeting since the BJP came to power at the Centre in May 2014.
