PM accuses Congress of dividing communities and spreading hatred

AMN / BANGALORE

Narendra ModiPrime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of dividing communities and spreading hatred in society. He claimed that BJP will get the majority in the Assembly polls on Saturday. Mr Modi said Congress leaders are shying away from campaigning fearing defeat in the polls.

Addressing an election rally in Vijayapura, Prime Minister said Karnataka is closely associated with Bhagwan Basaveshwara whose philosophy called for taking all sections of society together. Mr Modi said, sadly the Congress government has not followed Bhagwan Basaveshwara’s ideals. Mr Modi said, all Congress is bothered about is votes. He also charged the Congress with not helping farmers and drought-affected people in the state.

The Prime Minister also mentioned about the welfare schemes of the central government such as Saubhagya Yojana and Fasal Bima Yojana. Mr Modi will address rallies in Koppal and Bengaluru later today.

On the other hand Congress President Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister has failed in creating jobs as promised by him and destroyed the MSME sector due to demonetisation. He was interacting with prominent citizens of Bengaluru after inaugurating Samrudha Bharat Foundation in the city.

Mr Gandhi accused the government of interfering with the working of institutions in the country. He said atrocities against Dalits have increased, adding that he will do everything in his capacity to stop such atrocities in the country.

In another development, BJP spokesperson NR Ramesh has filed a complaint with Anti-Corruption Bureau against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his son Dr Yathindra for allegedly receiving the commission for transfer of Excise department officials. Ministers KJ George and former Minister HY Meti are also co-accused in the complaint.
