At least 15 people have been killed and more than 120 injured when a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 struck the island of Mindanao in southern parts of In Philippines.

Governor of Surigao del, Sol Matugas sai, the quake struck 14 kilometers northwest of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte province, last night. He said, the earthquake caused power outages in the city, destroyed the airport runway, bridges and buildings, including hotels and schools. Tremors were also felt in neighboring provinces such as southern Leyte, Mandate City, Butuan City, Tacloban and Cebu City, in the central Philippines.

Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology said, nearly 100 aftershocks have been felt. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said there was no tsunami threat from the earthquake.
