At least 36 people were killed in a bus accident in Peru. The mishap occurred yesterday when a double-deck bus veered off a highway and tumbled about 650 feet down near the Ocoña bridge in Arequipa province.
The police said, at least 34 people are also injured. Highway Police chief Jorge Castillo said, the death toll could rise. The cause was not immediately known.
In January, 52 people were killed in the country’s worst road fatality in four decades. Reckless driving on poorly maintained mountain roads claim dozens of lives every year in Peru.
