NEW DELHI: (AMN) Both the Houses of parliament could not function for the eighth consecutive day on Tuesday as the Opposition continued their stir over 2G scam.


The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day without transacting any substantive business in the wake of unruly scenes created by all the Opposition parties

 The government also refused to yield on demands for JPC into 2G spectrum scam. First both the houses were adjourned till 12.00 pm following the pandemonium when the it resume the bedlam continded and the hoses were adjourned for the. Congress was seeking dismissal of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa over corruption charges.


While the BJP led Opposition trooped into the well of the houses raising slogans to press their demand, some of the Congress members were also seen carrying placards calling for the sacking of Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa for the alleged land allotment to his family members. Although two meetings of all party’s were held in a week’s time to break the logjam the issue remains unresolved. In a fresh bid to break the deadlock, the government had yesterday, proposed that a multi-disciplinary investigative agency could be tagged along with the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to go into the issue of 2G spectrum. However, this was strongly rejected by the opposition, which insisted that it will not settle down for anything less than a JPC probe.
