In yet another fresh incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan forces on Wednesday evening resorted to heavy shelling and firing in Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu districts along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Defence sources, Pakistani forces started unprovoked firing and shelling in civilian areas and on forward Indian posts in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch, Sundarbani sector of Rajouri and Pallanwal area in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district around 5 PM. Troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively.

Heavy intermittent exchange of fire in all these sectors was still continuing. No casualty or injury to anyone has been reported in the Indian side from anywhere in firing and shelling so far.

In the aftermaths of surgical operations in PoK and the subsequent escalated tension, Pakistani forces have been time and again resorting to unprovoked shelling along LoC for last few days.

Indian Army has been giving befitting reply to the unprovoked shelling. The Pakistani troops have been even targeting the civilian population.People in the shelling affected areas are either shifting to relief camps or taking shelter in bunkers.
