Over 53 Lakh candidates trained under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana in last five years

The centre has said that more than 53 lakh candidates have been trained under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) during the last five years. Minister of State for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary informed this in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.

He said that the government has been taking several steps to improve placement rates and industry partnerships under PMKVY 4.0. He added that, as per the evaluation, about 70.5 per cent surveyed candidates received placement in their desired skill sectors.

As per the Ministry, PMKVY 4.0 is a demand-driven scheme and training centres are established based on proposals received from State Governments, Industry, Industry Associations and Training Providers.
