On the occasion of Maharashtra Day today, Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray ‘Aapla Dawakhana’ scheme was launched in 317 talukas of the state. These clinic will now provide treatment facilities near home for the needy people. Approximately 30 tests will be conducted free of cost at the clinic.
The expansion of Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Dawakhana scheme was done today in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Public Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant. The Chief Minister digitally unveiled the scheme. He was speaking in this program. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the government is trying to take public-oriented, public-beneficial decisions by taking into consideration the common citizens. The concept of Aapla Dawakhana will be important in this regard.
“Healthy Maharashtra is our aim. We are trying to make a change in the lives of all common people. We are satisfied that our health department is working in the same direction,” Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis from Nagpur, Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant from Osmanabad, while Union Minister of State for finance Bhagwat Karad, Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Patil, School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar participated in the program via video conferencing (VC) system along with MPs, MLAs and public representatives among others from their respective district headquarters. Secretary of Health Services Commissioner Naveen Sona and Health Service Commissioner Dhiraj Kumar among others were present at Varsha bungalow, the official residence of Maharashtra chief minister.
Chief Minister Shinde said that Corona has taught us the lesson of strengthening the health system. The pressure on big hospitals will have to be reduced for the treatment of minor diseases. Keeping this aim in mind and ensuring availability of treatment facilities near home to the needy, we commenced this scheme from Thane. The scheme is also implemented in Mumbai and now Aapla Dawakhana are commencing all over the state. We are running the government by following the ideology of revered Balasaheb Thackeray, who had also given priority to health. Close to 250 of our clinics are functioning in Mumbai today. Millions of patients are taking benefits from there.
