More than 33% crop has been damaged due to Cyclone Fani that hit the eastern coastline of Odisha last week. Nearly 1,22,000 hectors of agricultural land were badly affected in 14 districts of the state. According to the preliminary estimates, assistance for crops amounting to 145 crore rupees will be required.
Over 700 medical relief centres are functioning in the worst affected places of Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Cuttack.
Government is taking all the necessary steps and taking the assistance of Gaon Kalyan Samitis to provide health services to cyclone-affected people.
After the cyclonic storm Fani over coastal Odisha, now the situation is gradually improving. In 88 blocks, in 14 districts about One Lakh Fifty Two Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Five hectare agriculture land has been damaged.
Restoration power in worst affected Puri will be restored by 15th of this month. In 13 urban local bodies supply of drinking water and restoration of sanitation is going on war footing basis.
Out of 2,364 rural piped water supply scheme, 1,550 have been restored. The banking service, internet service, telecommunication service is going to be normal very soon.
