The notification for the third phase of State Assembly Elections in Bihar was issued today for 78 constituencies spread over 15 districts.

The polling will be held on 7th of November in this phase.

The last date of filing for nomination is 20th of October. Scrutiny will be held on the next day and the last date of withdrawal of candidature will be 23rd October.

The notification was also issued for bye- poll of Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency. The electorates can exercise their rights of franchise both for Assembly poll and Parliamentary bye-poll of Valmiki Nagar constituency.

For this separate EVMs will be used on concerned Polling Booths.

According to election commission, the pattern of use of indelible ink on the voters fingers will be changed due to simultaneous polling on 07th of November.

Meanwhile the process of filing of nominations picking up pace for the Second Phase of election in 94 Assembly constituencies.

State Road Construction Minister and BJP nominee Nand Kishore Yadav filed his nominations from Patna Sahib Constituency.

Former Health Minister and RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav filed his nominations from Hasanpur constituency of Samastipur district.

This time, he has changed his constituency. In 2015 Assembly elections, he was elected from Mahua constituency in Vaishali district.
For the Second Phase the last date of filing of nominations is 16th October.

BJP and JD(U) have started their election campaigns in the form of ground and virtual rallies.

The Chief Ministerial candidate of Grand Alliance Tejaswi Prasad Yadav will formally start the poll campaign from Samastipur.
