On 22 and 23 May 1987 PAC brutally killed innocent muslins at Hashimpura and Maliana in Meerut.
Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis (FMSA) which organized the meet drew the attention of people towards the fact that even after 24 years justice has not been delivered. 63 PAC men including Commandant of Batallion-42 R.D. Tripathi are still roaming free.
Addressing the meeting convener of Prof. Razaullah Khan said that PAC had taken away Muslims from their homes, lined them and shot them dead. He said that PAC dumped the dead bodies in upper Ganga canal and Hindon river. Prof. Khan said that even in Jalianwala Bagh such an ugly attitude of armed forces was not seen.
Secretary General of FMSA Jasim Mohammad Said that the genocide is documented fact but most shocking is the attitude of Mulayam Singh Yadav who is supposed as Muslim friendly.
He said that Yadav granted permission to prosecute only 19 PAC men and promoted 44 PAC men including commandment. He pointed out that none was suspended. This fact has exposed Mulayam Singh Yadav’s double face.
Prof. Syed Iqbal Ali said that Muslims lost properties of ten crore rupees and 350 families lost their bread earners and children. The government showed high degree of injustices and also violated Constitution of India which guarantees life of an Indian citizen.
Senior columnist and political analyst & coordinator FMSA N. Jamal Ansari said that cases against 19 PAC men are still pending in Tis Hazari court which indicates health of our judicial system. He said that we must redefine terrorism and questioned that was genocide of Hashimpura and Maliana in 1987 not state terrorism?
A resolution was passed demanding legal actions against all 63 PAC men including commandant to restore public confidence in the government.
