has decided to visit the village Bhajanpura himself where the massacre of five Muslims took place on June 3.
Habibullah with a team of NCM would visit Forbesganj on June 21 to make a first-hand assessment of the situation there. The team will also seek a report from the Chief Minister on the action taken in this matter.
Earlier Habibulallah had sought explanation from the Bihar Government over killing of five people including a pregnant woman an infant. But the reply NCM received from the state officials was unsatisfactory and casual. Following which NCM chief wrote another letter to chief minister, Nitish Kumar expressing his displeasure over report.
“The Commission is entirely dissatisfied with the report received from Araria District SP Ms. Garima Malik, which fails to explain why it should have become necessary for the police to open fire so indiscriminately as to target women and babies, and disappointed by
the communication received from Amir Subhani, Home Secretary, Bihar,” said NCM letter to CM.
A team of civil rights activists on Thursday also met with the Chairperson to express their anger and distress over the police firing in Forbesganj, in which four people, including an infant were shot dead and sought his urgent intervention to ensure justice for the victims of the horrendous torture and
killings.
The delegation also urged the Chairperson to pay a visit to the injured victims in PMCH, whose miseries are being compounded by the lack of medical attention and government apathy.
Those who met NCM chief include Mahtab Alam and Iqbal Ahmed of ‘Committee for Justice for Victims of Forbesganj Firing’ and Manisha Sethi and Ahmed Sohaib of ‘Jamia Teachers’ Solidarity Association’. They submitted a memorandum bearing the signatures of the office bearers of ANHAD, AISA, NAPM, and INSAF.
