NCM member H.S. Hanspal met CM and also requested her to expedite the implementation of welfare scheme meant for minorities.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit assured him that her government would soon take appropriate steps in this direction. Hanspal told media earlier this week at Delhi Secretariat that the Delhi Government has been taking adequate steps for development and welfare of Minorities.Further the Commission is satisfied with the input given by the City Government
“City government has been striving hard to percolate down the benefits to the members of Minorities communities” he said.
Hanspal held discussions with the Chief Secretary, Government of Delhi P.K. Tripathi and other senior officers on issues related to Minorities Welfare, Scholarships and PM’s 15 points Programme for the Welfare of Minorities. After detailed discussions Hanspal addressed a Press Conference. Principal Secretary of Home Arvind Ray was also present.
As regards, pre-matric scholarship the Government was able to disburse scholarships to the maximum number of applicants. This shows the commitment of the City Government towards the minorities. As far as the merit-cum means scholarship is concern 191 applicants were awarded this scholarship against earmarked quota of 247. Hanspal concluded that the City Government has been doing the best as far as the implementation of PM’s 15 Points Programme for the Welfare of Minorities is concerned.
