Opposition National Conference (NC) in Jammu & Kashmir, Tuesday announced that it will boycott rest of the Assembly session after Speaker Kavinder Gupta suspended two of its legislators. Speaker Kavinder Gupta suspended two NC lawmakers, Altaf Ahmad Wani and Abdul Majid Bhat for the rest of the session because of their unruly behaviour.

They were carried out of the House by the marshals. Both NC and Congress legislators disrupted the proceedings of the state Legislative Assembly in summer capital Srinagar. The Upper House Legislative Council also witnessed uproar and ruckus during which the chairman Haji Innayat Ali suspended two members Ali Mohammad Dar and Showkat Ahmad Ganai for their unruly behaviour.

The opposition lawmakers were demanding a discussion on Section 35 A related to Article 370. Following the suspension of National Conference members from the Assembly, party’s working president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted that NC will boycott the rest of the session.
