The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs.87.79 crore to under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-XXI) for Himachal Pradesh. Chief General Manager NABARD P Radhakrishnan said in Shimla that sanction covers 27 Rural Roads and two rural bridges in the state.

He said that under the projects 109.06 km of all-weather roads and 50.22 km of fair-weather roads will be constructed. On completion of these crucial rural roads, more than 218 villages would benefit directly or indirectly and also get connectivity to 106 rural marketing centers, he said.

P Radhakrishnan also said that with this, NABARD has sanctioned Rs. 367.22 crore for creation of rural infrastructure, which includes Rural Roads/Bridges, Drinking Water and Micro Irrigation Schemes during the year 2015-16 under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) of the bank.
