British Prime Minister, Theresa May has said that her upcoming maiden visit to India shows the importance of the UK and India bilateral ties which will be a true celebration of relations and shared ambition for the future.
Addressing the Indian community for the first time at a Diwali reception in London, she said, her visit to India will be her first bilateral visit outside European Union. She said, the Indian community in the UK is absolutely at the heart of British society.
The British Prime Minister will lead a trade delegation to India from 6th to 8th of November as her government seeks new relationships after Britain leaves the European Union.
During the visit, Prime Minister May alongside Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the India-UK Tech Summit in New Delhi.
The Summit will be an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen business to business engagement in the areas of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, design and higher education.
The two sides had agreed to hold the Summit during Prime Minister’s visit to the United Kingdom in November 2015.
