In a relief to Muzaffarnagar riot victims, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced a compensation of 15 lakh Rupees each to families of 18 missing persons.
An official spokesman said, Chief Minister also said that 15 lakhs Rupees were already given to the kin of the people killed in the riots, in which 13 lakhs were the state government share while two lakh was centre’s share.
Deadly communal violence in western Uttar Pradesh had claimed over 60 lives and displaced 50,000 people. The riots, that broke out in Muzaffarnagar in September 2013, later spread to neighbouring Shamli and other districts.
