Andalib Akhter / New Delhi
A group of concerned Muslim citizens of the country today extended community support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his endeavor to ‘win trust of minorities’.
In a letter to prime minister, they appreciated and endorsed former statement that was made at the first meeting of party MPs held on 26 May, 2019. In his statement prime minister said: “the way the poor have been cheated, the minorities have been deceived the same way. It would have been good if their education, their health had been in focus. Minorities have been made to live in fear by those who believed in vote-bank politics. I expect from you in 2019 that you would be able to make a hole in that deception. We have to earn their trust.”
In the letter they pinpointed the problem of minorities, particular of education and healthcare saying these two sectors are crucial to bring the minorities into the mainstream and to make them fully productive in order to realize our dream of turning India into the third largest economy of the world.
We share the belief with your honour that unless the poor and the marginalised are brought into the mainstream and their full capacities are utilised, this great dream of every Indian patriot will not come true.
“We are committed to support your initiatives to win trust of minorities”, the letter noted.

Dear Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sir
Subject: Appreciation & Endorsement of your statement dated 26th May 2019 and our commitment to support the initiatives
Please allow us to congratulate you for winning the trust of the people of India consecutively for the second term and becoming India’s Prime Minister once again.
We are also happy to note that in the first meeting of your party MPs held on 26 May, 2019, you unequivocally committed yourself to work for and serve all sections of society. We appreciate, in particular, your statement that “the way the poor have been cheated, the minorities have been deceived the same way. It would have been good if their education, their health had been in focus. Minorities have been made to live in fear by those who believed in vote-bank politics. I expect from you in 2019 that you would be able to make a hole in that deception. We have to earn their trust.”
We also appreciate that you mentioned the common endeavour of all communities in our freedom struggle of 1857. They dreamt of a free and strong India and gave their lives for this precious dream. Your call to replicate today the same spirit of 1857 is reassuring.
You have very pertinently pinpointed the problem of minorities, in particular of education and healthcare. Indeed, these two sectors are crucial to bring the minorities into the mainstream and to make them fully productive in order to realize our dream of turning India into the third largest economy of the world. We share the belief with your honour that unless the poor and the marginalised are brought into the mainstream and their full capacities are utilised, this great dream of every Indian patriot will not come true.
While assuring you of all our cooperation and inputs for the above agenda on minorities, we feel that the following three focussed points need immediate attention:
- Education & Healthcare
- Skill Development
- Confidence-building measures by ensuring adequate protection under Constitution and the law of the land. A reassurance to the innocent to ensure that hooligans would not be allowed a free run and would certainly be punished.
Sir, we are a group of concerned citizens who have contributed in educational, social and cultural development of the community and country and we assure you of our utmost cooperation for the fulfilment of the above goals and we offer our profound services to enable your honour to take the community into confidence for suitable measures you may propose to take on the above suggestions. We are respectfully offering to interact with your honour from time to time as per your convenience.
As the Holy month of Ramadan comes to a conclusion, we pray to Almighty for the well being of our nation, to make it strong, vibrant and peaceful and wish your honour and your team a very successful and fruitful new term.
This letter is issued with the concurrence of the under mentioned concerned citizens of the country.
