Accusing the Modi government of avoiding Parliament fearing that the Opposition may raise issues like irregularities in the Rafale deal, the faulty implementation of GST and farmers distress that could impact BJP’s chances in the Gujarat Assembly polls, the Congress on Tuesday said that this government had become an election machine.
Addressing a joint press conference with Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Deputy leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma and AICC spokesperson Deepender Hooda, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sbaha Ghulam Nabi Azad said,’ The Government is running away from Parliament as it feels that the Opposition raising its corruption scandals like Rafale deal would expose it before the Gujarat elections.
The Government is avoiding calling Parliament as it is afraid of giving answers on these issues .’
