The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram today called the tribal people to preserve their languages throughout the country. He said that despite getting educated and developed, most of the tribal communities are gradually forgetting their consonant dialect.
Mr. Oram said while addressing a meeting of various communities of Sikkim at Manan Kendra in Gangtok today. Mr. Oram urged the tribal people to get rid off their superstitions as to cope up with progress of the modern times.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling stressed on strengthening the road, rail and air connectivity to the land locked state of Sikkim.
He also highlighted some of the demands of the tribal and other communities of the state and urged to Mr. Oram to look into them sympathetically.
In his speech, the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Rathore stressed that the country’s progress is closely linked with progress of the states like Sikkim.
He told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is taking a special care of north east region.
