Maulana asked Nitish Kumar to immediately sack the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and BJP MLC Ashok Agrawal for what happened in Forbesganj. He said that it was strange that the state government was maintaining silence over such a serious incident and has refrained from taking any tough action against the culprits. He said that the state government’s silence indicates the seriousness of the matter and involvement of its officers at higher levels.
“Bihar Police’s barbaric firing and killing of Muslims in Bhajanpur area of Araria district has proved that Bihar’s NDA government has no sympathy for Muslims,” said Qasmi in a statement here.
He said that Bihar Police fired even at a 6-month-old infant, which shows the anti-people mentality of this force and indicates forces behind this bestiality. Maulana Qasmi said that it was necessary for the authorities to convince the local people before closing down a road being used for the past six decades.
Maulana Qasmi had earlier explained the details of the police bestiality at Bhajanpur to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and offered her press clippings on the matter. He has also written in this respect to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambram.
