BJP has alleged that the Mathura violence incident was institutionally planned by the Uttra Pradesh government. The party said, despite local intelligence report about the encroachments, the Smajwadi Party regime did not take any action.

Citing the media reports that local intelligence officer had sent several reports in the last two years about the presence of arms and ammunition there, the party rejected state government’s claim of no information about it.

Briefing media in New Delhi today, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said, senior UP Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav is clearly involved in it and added that the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is not even able to deny this fact.

He said setting up of one member judicial probe committee into the incident is mere an eyewash.

Mr. Trivedi claimed that ever since Samajwadi Party came into power, there has been over one thousand incidents of attack on the police. He also accused the BSP, Congress and RLD of not reacting firmly over the issue. Last week, 29 people including two police men were killed during a drive to evict encroachers from Jawahar Park.
