Massive protests erupted in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir over the authenticity of the elections held on 21 July. The elections resulted in Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) taking 32 of the 42 seats. The protests have spread across the towns of Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Chinari and Mirpur.
Protestors allege that the genuine voters were not allowed to cast their votes and also claimed that the elections were rigged.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh termed this as an eye-opener and advised Pakistan to focus on it’s own human rights record instead of pointing fingers at India.
