Jimny will be available for deliveries starting today. The starting price has been kept at Rs 12.7 lakh.

India car maker Maruti Suzuki today launched the 5-door Jimny SUV in the price range of Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is being sold from the carmaker’s Nexa dealerships, which offer two other SUVs, the recently-launched Fronx and the flagship Grand Vitara. The company sells the Brezza via its Arena dealerships.

Maruti registered its highest-ever exports in a fiscal at 259,333 units in FY23, a jump of 8.79% y-o-y over 238,376 units shipped in FY22. The company was the largest exporter of passenger vehicles (PVs) in FY23 as well as FY22.

“India holds a significant position for Suzuki Motor Corporation not only as a domestic market but also as a global export base. It gives me immense pleasure to announce that India will proudly serve as the mother plant for the Jimny (5-door) and will be the first market for its launch. This truly reaffirms our commitment to Make-In-India for the world,” Takeuchi said.
