Manipur police arrested the chairman of the autonomous district council (ADC), Chandel Lhukhosei Zou, with drugs worth rupees 27.5 crore rupees. He has been arrested along with seven of his associates. State police said in a statement that the operation is the fallout of Manipur government’s commitment for war against drugs. All the eight arrested were remanded to police custody for ten days, last evening.
Meanwhile Mr. Zou has been expelled from the active membership of BJP, Manipur State.
