A man threw acid on his wife and six other members of the family in Shaukeen Nagar area of Meerut on Friday. Following a dispute, Man named Sajid poured acid over his wife, her parents, three sisters and six-month-old nephew, leaving them seriously injured. The victims were sleeping when the accused Sajid along with his friend Waseem threw acid on the family members and his wife Uzma who had filed a case of domestic violence against him.
Police has arrested Waseem while the main accused is still at large. SHO Ravindra Yadav said that police team has been sent to nab Sajid. The police said that five of the injured have been admitted to local hospital for treatment and are out of danger. While Sajid’s wife Uzma suffered 80 per cent burns and her nephew also suffered 60 per cent burns. Both are reported to be critical and have been referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
