Talking to media here Wednesday, Ms. Banerjee said that it is Trinamool Congress’s commitment in the election manifesto that it will not accept the FDI in retail trade. Criticizing the Centre, the Trinamool Congress chief alleged that all the decisions in the name of reforms are being taken arbitrarily and being an ally of the government they never consulted. Ms. Banerjee reiterated her demand for a roll back of FDI in retail trade, hiking cap on LPG subsidy and decrease of diesel prices.
Meanwhile, BJP today reiterated its demand for roll back of government’s decision of diesel price hike, capping of LPG cylinder and FDI in retail trade.
Talking to media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that major political parties are against the move and even the UPA allies were also not taken on board before taking such decision. He alleged the government has taken the decision to divert the attention of common people from the alleged irregularities in the coal block allocation.
