Flood situation further deteriorates in West Bengal

The West Bengal Chief Minster Miss Mamata Banerjee has sought central assistance for post flood rehabilitation and reconstruction work in the state. Miss Banerjee, who will leave for Delhi today, is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow on the issue.

Floods have created havoc in 12 districts of the state. Besides huge damage of crops in vast areas around 94 lakh people have also been affected in the floods. Our correspondent reports that floods have claimed more than 100 lives in the state so far.
