In a major political development in the election-bound West Bengal, the Trinomool Congress TMC, has appointed Mukul Roy as all-India vice president of the party.
Roy had been stripped of all party posts last year, following his questioning by the CBI in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.
Mukul Roy has been made all-India vice president of the party, TMC Secretary General Partha Chatterjee announced.
He said that Party President Mamata Banerjee has sent a letter with the authorization and new appointment. This is step is being seen as Mamata’s effort to reduce the dissent in the party that has reached at pick in recent times.
