‘Beyond the Clouds’ by legendary Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi is set to be the curtain raiser at the 48th International Film Festival of India in Goa on the 20th of this month.
The two-hour long film was also nominated for the Best Film Award at the London Film Festival 2017. The film marks the official debut of talented Ishaan Khattar into the world of cinema. Beyond The Clouds is also the first Indian film by Majid Majidi. It features South Indian actress, Malavika Mohanan in one of the lead roles.
It revolves around the adoration of love, life and human relationships between a brother and sister with Mumbai as the backdrop. Oscar winner A.R Rahman has composed the music for the film.
The Opening film of the feature film section of Indian Panorama is Pihu directed by Vinod Kapri.
IFFI will showcase a curated selection of 7 films that have won the BRICS Film Awards this year. Besides, a package of 8 best films from recent Canadian Cinema will be presented. Canada is the focus country of this year’s Film Festival.
