Maharashtra is observing a day-long state mourning today with a complete halt of almost all activities including the court, university and RBI among others to mourn the demise of the daughter of the soil Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar.

The High Court in a notice issued said judicial proceedings at the Principal Seat as well as the benches of the High Court as also the High Court of Bombay at Goa shall remain suspended and closed today. And further said the court shall remain open on coming Saturday for compensating the loss.

Similarly, the RBI has rescheduled its Monetary Policy Committee meeting which was to be held from today to 9th Feb to 8th to 10th Feb. It has also halted all transactions and settlements in Government securities (primary and secondary), foreign exchange, money markets and Rupee Interest Rate Derivatives today and said settlement of all outstanding transactions will accordingly get postponed to the next working day i.e., February 8.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai University has postponed the online exams for MA and MCom of institute of Distance and Open Learning scheduled for today and said a revised date would be announced soon.
