Maharashtra Minister for women and child development Adv. Yashomati Thakur has written a letter to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray requesting him to allow women government officers and employees who are pregnant and those who are above the age of 50 with other medical conditions to work from home owing to the current covid-19 pandemic.
Following a request by the Maharashtra state gazetted officers association and on humanitarian grounds, the state minister for Women and Child development Adv. Yashomati Thakur has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to allow women government employees and officers who are pregnant and those who are above age of 50 having other health ailments like blood pressure issues, diabetes, kidney related problems, heart ailments and asthama to work from home owing to current covid-19 pandemic as they are at high risk of infection.
She said that incase of urgency they should be allowed to work from the nearest related government office. Meanwhile the state health department has set up district level committee to oversee the medical facilities in the covid-19 hospitals across the state. The committee headed by district collectors will regularly visit these COVID hospitals.
The health department has also asked the local administration to install cctv cameras in these hospitals to keep a check on treatment and facilities given to the patients.
