The Maharashtra government has decided to double the amount of compensation for loss of property in terrorists attack, riots,, bomb blasts or naxal attacks. In fact, the naxal category has been included for the first time.

In its cabinet meeting in Mumbai, headed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, it also approved Mukhyamantri gram sadak yojna for construction and repairing of roads. An amount of rs 13,828 crore is to be spent on this scheme in five years. The scheme is aimed at bringing greater connectivity in rural area.

Under this scheme, 30,000 km of roads will be repaired and 730 kms of new roads will be constructed, according to a state government spokesman here.
