The “Chadar” will be carried by the members of Delhi State Urs Committee to the Dargah.

On this occasion he said: “I pray that our National Capital and the country prosper with the blessings of Almighty and peace and harmony reign”. He appealed to the pilgrims to offer prayer for unity and brotherhood during the annual Urs at Ajmer to the Garib Nawaz. He appreciated the role of Urs Committee in making excellent arrangements in the camp for the devotees.

Expressing his full devotion to the Garib Nawaaj, he described the shrine a symbol of religious convergence as both Hindus and Muslims who throng the shrine in large numbers with the belief that all their wishes would be fulfilled subsequent to their prayers at the shrine. The gathering for the Urs at Ajmer is considered to be the second largest congregation of Muslims at one place after Mecca.  The Urs is observed to mark the death anniversary of Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.

Dr. A.K. Walia, Delhi’s Revenue Minister, Ch. Salahuddin, Chairman, Delhi State Urs Committee, members of Delhi State Urs Committee and senior Delhi government officials were also present on the occasion.
