Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley Thursday revealed that an attempt to kill Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray was made by Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, he said that he didn’t have firsthand knowledge about it.
Headley said this during his cross-examination in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case that began on Wednesday and continued on Thursday in Mumbai before sessions Judge G A Sanap via video link from the US.
He said that he visited Sena Bhavan in Mumbai twice on instructions of his supervisor Sajid Mir as the target was to kill the Shiv Sena chief.
He said that he did not know who else was a target of the LeT apart from Thackeray.
Speaking about his testimony in Mumbai court, he said that he will not benefit according to US witness protection program by giving testimony to this court as there is no such thing as pleading pardon in US law.
He said that one either pleads guilty or not guilty according to US law. He also admitted to have pleaded before the present Mumbai court for pardon.
He also informed the court about his purchase of two shops in the UAE and he is still the owner. Abdul Wahab Khan, the lawyer of Abu Jundal started cross questioning him in 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case on Wednesday.
