Former union minister and Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Villas Paswan announced that he along with like-minded parties would try to corner the government on Kashmir issue in the forthcoming session of Parliament.
Blaming both state and central government for impasse on Kashmir, he said Kashmir was sitting on gun powder and anything could happen there anytime.
Speaking at a seminar on Kashmir organized by NGO ANHAD here on Friday, Paswan said it was unfortunate that the country was not aware of the real situation in Kashmir. “Development or employment is not the issue there but fear as new born sees barrel of guns instead of its flora and fauna of that beautiful landscape, he added.
Calling upon the civil society and political parties for educating Indian masses about real situation in Kashmir, he said when more than 118 youths were killed by the security forces last year not a single union minister went there to assuage the victim’s families.
