The new CPI(M)-led LDF ministry in Kerala, headed by party leader and Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan, will be sworn in on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister-designate Pinarayi Vijayan told media in Thiruvananthapuram today that the swearing-in ceremony of the LDF ministry would be held at the Central Stadium on Wednesday evening.

He said, the LDF would meet tomorrow to discuss matters related to ministry formation. Mr. Vijayan said, he had a brief meeting with party’s senior leader V.S. Achudanandan at the latter’s official residence in the capital.

“Mr. Achudanandan is the last party leader who held the post of Chief Minister and has the experience. So, it is important to understand various matters from him”, Mr. Vijayan said. CPI(M) yesterday elected Mr. Vijayan as the new leader of the legislature party at its State Secretariat and State Committee meeting.

LDF was voted to power with a huge majority of 92 seats pushing the Congress-led UDF to 47 in the 140-member Assembly and the BJP scoring a single seat.
