Language should be inclusive; says PM at Hindi conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that a Language should be ‘inclusive’ if it wanted to expand its base and popularity among people. ” Our language should not be exclusive, rather it should be inclusive only then it will expand and get acceptance among the people”, PM said while inaugurating the Tenth World Hindi Conference in Bhopal today.

Inaugurating the three day event, Prime Minister said that Hindi will be one of the three most influential languages of digital age after Chinese and English.

He said that there will be a big market of language in the coming days.

Modi said that it is the responsibility of every generation to protect and conserve their heritage and to carry it to next generation.

The Prime Minister said that it is responsibility of all to make Hindi prosperous. Remembering Subhash Chandra Bose, Balgangdhar Tilak and others, Mr. Modi said that most of the agitations for Hindi were launched by those whose mother tongue was not Hindi.

He suggested that other Indian languages should be written in Nagri script along with their original scripts.

He also suggested that the combined workshops should be organized of Hindi and other Indian languages and there should be exchange of words among them.

Prime Minister said that each state has a treasure of its own language and there is a need to link these treasures.

Mr. Modi also remembered the contribution of Bollywood in promoting Hindi in foreign countries.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that there is need to conserve Hindi due to growing impact of English.

She expressed hope that the Conference will come out with solid results. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also addressed the gathering.

Mr. Modi released a special stamp on this occasion. He also released three books.

Union ministers Ravishankar Prasad, Harshwardhan, V K Singh and Kiren Rijuj, governors of West Bengal, Goa and Madhya Pradesh were also present in the inaugural function.

World Hindi Conference is being organised by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Madhya Pradesh government is a local partner. The theme of the conference is Hindi jagat- vistaar aur sambhavnaye.

More than two thousand experts and scholars from over 40 countries are participating in it.

Experts will discuss topics like Hindi in administration, foreign policy, children literature in different sessions to be held at the Makhan Nagar named on renowned Hindi poet Makhan Lal Chaturvedi.

Names of fIve auditoriums at the venue have been dedicated to Kavi Pradeep, Rajendra Mathur, Vidyaniwas Mishra, Ronald Stuart and Alexsai Petrovich.
