US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Russia next week to hold talks on the international efforts against ISIS. The move comes days after Moscow began withdrawing most of its forces from the war-torn Syria.
US States Department spokesman John Kirby said, Kerry will visit Moscow from 22nd to 25th March to meet with Russian officials. They will discuss ongoing efforts of the International Syria Support Group to maintain the cessation of hostilities, improve humanitarian access, and facilitate a political transition in Syria, while also combating the terrorist group there, said Kirby.
Last month, Mr. Kerry had alleged that Russia’s attacks in Syria were largely against the legitimate opposition groups rather than against ISIS.
