AMNKerala Governor Arif Muhammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited the landslide-hit region at Pettimudi in Rajamala in Kerala today. The Chief Minister announced that the government will provide houses for all those affected by the tragedy and will also bear the medical expenses of the injured people.
Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh has already been declared for the victims’ family by the State Govt earlier. The unfortunate landslide hit the region in the early hours of last friday washing away the lines of settlements of tea plantation workers, claiming 55 lives so far.
Search is on in the region to locate around 15 persons who are still missing.
