The landslide that hit Rajamala in Idukki district in Kerala on Friday, 49 lives are lost so far, as 6 more dead bodies were recovered from the site today. Rescue and search operations are ongoing in the landslide hit region. Weather is comparatively favorable today in the area.

Meanwhile the strength of rain had reduced in many places in the State, even as Met dept predicts very heavy rain across the State for today .

As the water level in Mullaperiyar dam had risen , the authorities informed that the matter had been taken up with the Tamilnadu Govt . The Theni district authorities said that, in case of opening of the dam’s shutters , Kerala will be informed in advance. Three people had died today in various rain related incidents in Kerala.

Tribal hamlets of the Idukki districts are isolated.People are being shifted to relief camps. Kuttanad region in Alapuzha is flooded and widespread agriculture damage is being reported from the region.
