Top leaders of BJP, Congress, AAP and JD(S) are holding election campaigns, public rallies and roadshows in different parts of Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held six public meetings, rallies and two mega roadshows, one in Bengaluru and the other in Mysuru, before heading back to Delhi.

Attacking the opposition parties at a public rally in Belur this afternoon, Mr. Modi said the Congress and the JD(S) are symbols of instability. Karnataka has decided to end the politics of coalition going on for decades.

Congress-ruled states are known for the infighting of their leaders, and JD(S) is the B team of the Congress. He also alleged that the Karnataka Congress unit works round the clock for one family sitting in Delhi. Mr. Modi also addressed a rally at Channapatna, where JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy is contesting. The Prime Minister has visited poll-bound Karnataka nine times since February this year. BJP’s National President JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed public gatherings as part of the campaigning for the upcoming elections in the State.

Earlier in the day the Prime Minister held a public meeting at Kolar in Ramanagara district on the second day of his first-leg visit to the poll-bound State. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the BJP has to save the people of Karnataka from the corrupt government of Congress and JD(S). Alleging that the Congress has once again brought out its false guarantees, Mr. Modi said the party could never work for the State’s progress. He also said both Congress and the JD(S) pretend to be two different parties, but they are one.

Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi lashed out at BJP today and said that the party has betrayed the public while alleging that the party is attempting to divert people’s attention from the main issues. She further mentioned that Congress has fulfilled all its promises and has worked for the people. Besides participating in a road show in Belagavi, Mrs Gandhi addressed public gatherings in Kudachi and Jamkhandi areas today. She appealed to the people of Karnataka to vote for their self-respect and future forthcoming election. In addition, Congress National President Mallikarjuna Kharge in Shivamogga and party leader Rahul Gandhi in Chamrajnagar held campaigns to woo voters in their favour.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who campaigned for the Aam Aadmi Party candidate in Chitradurga this morning, expressed confidence that the party will put up a good show in the poll. He held a road show in Bengaluru this afternoon. Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H D Deve Gowda and his son H D Kumaraswamy campaigned for their party candidates. Deve Gowda today participated in a roadshow in Bengaluru.
