Karnataka recorded 6,805 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,58,254. During this period, 5,602 people also recovered in the State.

So far, 80,281 people have recovered from the disease in the state. 75,068 coronavirus patients are taking treatment in various hospitals. 93 patients succumbed to the disease yesterday. With this the death toll in the state has risen to 2,897.

Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr. K.Sudhakar said that the State crossed the 50 percent benchmark of cumulative covid recoveries over active cases.

During the last seven days the recovery rate of the State has increased by 11.37 percent. The State conducted 48,421 covid tests yesterday which is highest so far. Across the state 95 labs have conducted 15.81lakh tests till date.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N.Aswath Naryan launched eight products in Bengaluru yesterday aimed at mitigating Covid-19. These are developed by various start-ups at Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre.

Launching the products through an online platform, the Minister said that the products show that Karnataka has emerged as a leading State in developing solutions to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
