Four people were reported missing after a landslide caused by heavy rain near Talacauvery. The Chief Priest of a temple and his family members were residing at the spot where the landslide occurred today. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has directed the district administration to release 10,000 rupees interim relief to those affected by rain. He has also asked the administration to open relief camps in schools and colleges and asked them to send crop loss details.

Revenue minister R Ashoka who interacted with the district administration today has said that red is sounded in coastal Karnataka, Shivamogga, Chickmagalur and Hassan. He also said that NDRF teams are already deployed in Kodagu, Dharwad, Belagavi and in coastal Karnataka. The water level in Cauvery river and its tributaries are flowing at high level. Several places in Kogadu are inundated and several residents were shifted to safer locations. The movement of vehicles in Kodagu are closed as bridges are flooded. The met department has said that heavy showers will continue in the state for the next three days.
