lsland Express train from Kanyakumari to Bangalore derailed today at Natrampalli, Vellore District in Tamil Nadu, at 5:30 in the morning. Trains coming to Chennai via Vellore have been diverted presently after the incident.
Officials say that the cause may be due to the problem with the tracks this season. Nearly 20 people have suffered light injuries due to the derailment. They have been taken to hospitals in Natrampalli and Jolarpet. A case has been registered and preliminary investigation is being conducted.
