An army man was killed after Pakistani Rangers resorted to ceasefire violation on the forward post of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district today morning.
Defence sources said that Pakistani forces resorted to unprovoked firing along LoC in Machhil Sector of Kupwara district. They said Indian forces retaliated in a befitting manner.
Meanwhile, fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces was reported along LoC in Kamalkote Sector of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Security sources said that intermittent firing was going on in both the sectors.
Official sources said cross LoC trade has been suspended from Uri route following injuries to two army men in Pakistani firing yesterday.
In another incident, one BSF jawan was martyred in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Surankote sector of Rajouri district in Jammu region today.
BSF sources told media in Jammu that Pakistani forces started unprovoked firing targeting Indian forward locations. Indian forces retaliated effectively.
