In Jammu & Kashmir, a Pakistani LeT terrorist was killed in an encounter in Samboora Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late last night. A senior police spokesman identified the terrorist as Umer of the Abu Ismail group of Lashkar e Toiba.
He said the role of Umer in different offences committed by Abu Ismail group is being ascertained. One AK 47 rifle has been recovered from the encounter site. The spokesman said Awantipora Police, 50 RR and CRPF jointly participated in the Samboora operation.
Security forces launched cordon and search operation yesterday late evening on the basis of specific information about presence of two to three terrorists in the area.
