In the Kashmir Valley, Police along with security forces arrested three terror associates linked with the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and recovered incriminating material and grenades from their possession in Baramulla.

According to police officials, Baramulla Police received credible intelligence that some unidentified terrorists affiliated with the banned LeT organisation are moving into Baramulla town with intentions to target security forces. The three persons from Town Baramulla were providing information about security force movements. They intended to disturb the peace process in the Baramulla given forthcoming elections, orchestrated by their handlers across the border.

Upon receiving this information, a case under sections of the UA(P)Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations have started. During the investigation, the three accused persons were apprehended in Old Town Baramulla and upon their disclosure three hand grenades were recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case is in process.
