Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa continues to be under the medical observation of a team of doctors representing a range of specializations at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai, for the 19th day today.

Though it was initially reported by the hospital that she was admitted on 22nd last month on complaints of fever and dehydration, later it was revealed that she is under respiratory support and is being treated for infection and decongestion of lungs.

Three doctos from the AIIMS, Delhi and a consultant from the UK Dr Richard Beale also reviewed the medical condition of Ms Jayalalithaa at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the opposition is raising voices for making an interim arrangement for running the state administration effectively in the absence of chief minister J.Jayalalithaa.

The Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu C.Vidyasagar Rao, Union Minister Pon.Radhakrishnan, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, DMK treasurer MK Stalin, MDMK chief Vaiko and a host of other leaders cutting across political lines have visited the hospital and inquired about Ms Jayalalithaa’s health with doctors and state ministers.
