Major Asian indices displayed mixed trends today. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index surged over 1.8 percent, South Korea’s Kospi gained over 0.8 percent, and China’s Shanghai Composite Index added almost 0.7 percent.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei as well as Singapore’s Straits Times index ended nearly flat, with a negative bias. Earlier, the Bank of Japan hiked rates by 25 basis points to 0.5 percent, as it seeks to normalize its monetary policy. Major European indices were trading mixed.
France’s CAC rose over 0.9 percent, Germany’s DAX was trading 0.2 percent up, while London’s FTSE was over 0.3 percent down, when reports last came in.
